Hood was one of the Old Gods, serving as the god of death and patron of the temple of death. He was a member of the ancient Stone Council.
Hood was killed by Likos during The Usurpation twelve centuries ago, when the Akkosian Pantheon overthrew the Old Gods.
When Alam Ka'enat Kyandr, Zeekon, and other members of The Beleaguered awoke in Hood's temple on the 8th day of August, they discovered their fellow god's corpse, evidently slain by Likos. They retrieved Hood's divine totem before Titus Arrakis betrayed them.
Hood's temple of death served as a prison for some of the Beleaguered Gods during their twelve-century slumber. The temple remained standing even after Hood's death, bearing silent witness to the god's fate.
