As the Elder of Ruin, Din the Red represents destruction, entropy, collapse, and the inevitable decay of all things. The epithet "the Red" may reference blood, fire, war, or the violent nature of ruination itself. Din presides over five divine domains that draw power from this cosmic force.
According to the principles of Divinity and Magic on Tarras, Din the Red is one of the sources of the 25 "god spots" available on Tarras. Each Elder controls five domains, and those who ascend to godhood within Din's domains draw their power ultimately from this Elder.
Given Din's association with Ruin, it is worth considering whether the events of The Usurpation of the Old Gods fell within this Elder's domains, and whether the conflict between the Old Gods and the Akkosian Pantheon drew upon Din's power.
Little is truly known about Din the Red's nature, intentions, or whether this Elder actively involves itself in the affairs of mortals and gods. Like all the Elders, Din remains a cosmic enigma.
