Silanah is one of the five Elders, the cosmic entities that represent the primal forces of Verden. Silanah embodies Preservation and is believed to most commonly manifest as a dragon, like the other Elders.
As the Elder of Preservation, Silanah represents continuity, protection, endurance, and the forces that maintain and sustain existence against entropy and ruin. Silanah stands in conceptual opposition to Din the Red (Ruin), though the relationship between these cosmic forces is not well understood.
Silanah presides over five divine domains that draw power from this cosmic force.
According to the principles of Divinity and Magic on Tarras, Silanah is one of the sources of the 25 "god spots" available on Tarras. Each Elder controls five domains, and those who ascend to godhood within Silanah's domains draw their power ultimately from this Elder.
It is worth considering whether the Old Gods who were entombed during The Usurpation of the Old Gods might have drawn upon Silanah's power of Preservation, and whether that cosmic force played a role in their eventual return during The Beleaguered Return.
Little is truly known about Silanah's nature, intentions, or whether this Elder actively involves itself in the affairs of mortals and gods. Like all the Elders, Silanah remains a cosmic enigma.
